ABOUT US
Linda L. Smith, LCPC - Therapist and Program Director
Linda is a licensed therapist, she holds a M.A. and a certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling from Loyola College. She founded leg-Up Counseling in 2005 in addition to a traditional private practice. Linda has over 25 years of counseling experience and life long horse experience. Knowing the healing, honest nature of horses made EAP a natural choice of study and practice.

Other areas of specialty include: stress and anxiety management; vocational counseling and short-term resolution focused therapy.

Glenn Smith - Equine Specialist
Glenn obtained certification from the Equine Assisted Growth and learning Association (EAGALA) in 2006. In addition to his experience with horses, Glenn has worked with a number of "people" in his church and the Boy Scouts.

Alyssa Taylor - Equine Specialist
Alyssa graduated from Notre Dame with a degree in Non Profit Management and is currently pursuing an advance degree in Counseling Psychology. In addition to her involvement with Leg Up Counseling, Alyssa founded and operates Royal Equine Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and placing abused and neglected horses.

Linda Hubble - Education Coordinator
Linda brings an expertise in Special Education to the Leg Up Team. She has extensive experience in the Harford County Public School System including the implementation of a program for children with autism. Linda holds a Masters Degree in Education from John Hopkins University. She has been instrumental in designing activities fro children with special needs.

Maria "Doe" Ladd - Addictions Consultant
Doe has been with the program from its inception in a consulting role. Doe also has experience with working with special needs children in the Harford County Public School System. However, more recently she has developed an expertise in working with addicts, alcoholics and their families. Doe founded Addictions Connections Resources (ACR) in 2001 a program which assists people in finding appropriate treatment options and offers weekly support groups.

Katherine Acevedo - Therapist Intern
Katherine is a Masters Candidate in Clinical Psychology at Towson University. She chose Leg Up Counseling for her internship and is interested in making Equine Assisted Psychotherapy part of her practice upon graduation. She recently completed her EAGALA Level I Certification.







THE SETTING
The home of the Leg-Up Program is a picturesque farm in Harford County, in the Jarrettsville area. It offers a serene, private environment that is 15 minutes from Bel Air.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Hours are by appointment only. We do however; make every effort to work with our clients’ work or school schedules.

FEES
We are dedicated to providing the best possible care and will work with individuals and families regarding fee for services.
